Montgomery.L, 1908, Anne of Green Gables, .Puffin Books, London England.

From looking at the book I believe that Anne of Green Gables will be about a young girl named Anne Shirley and her adventures living on a farm. From reading the blurb I believe that Anne of Green Gables is about Annes life when she is adopted and working on the farm.

Anne Shirley:
The word had spread around Avonlea that an "Odd" little girl and been taken in by Brother and Sister Marilla and Mathew Cuthbert. The Odd little girl went about the name of Anne Shirley, only she dreamed of being named Lady Cordellia Shirley.
Wearing a tight, short and ugly yellowish, grey dress and a brown sailor that went down her back is the outfit she was first approached in by Mathew Cuthbert. Anne has a small face with Freckles divided among her soft pale cheeks, and eyes that green in some lights and moods and grey in others. Anne has an interesting imagination, too her everything is a gift from god, as she names all beautiful things around her and really appreciates them. But boy can Anne talk. Annoying Miss Marilla Cuthbert at first but finally her 15 minutes sentences about 10 different things that are completely irrelevant to each other seem to catch interest of Marilla. Although Mathew Loves it!

6. Is your book an example of ‘classic’ or ‘modern’ literature? You must use evidence to back up your stance. For example; has your book stood the ‘test of time’? Are there theme’s that will transcend time?
Anne of Green Gables is a classic book. Written in old English Language. There are alot of words in Anne of Green Gables that we wouldn't use in our average day to day life. For Example: Forenoon of like the sentence : " If I had been killed, she would have had to carry a dark Burden of Remorse all her life" Said Anne. These words were big back around the 1800.... not now, as we tend to abbreviate or use slang.
Also this book has been around for years and years... around 102 years. Anne of Green Gables has been popular for MANY years as this book was a gift my grandmother received form from her mum, and gave to my mum, this is why it was my grandmothers wish for me to read these books, and she gave them to me for my 7th Birthday . SO this book has been popular for decades... aning I believe still will be in the next 50 years!.
Then is deffenitely modern Literature. Not once through out Then did I come across a word that I was not familair with or was not used in our every day to day life.
Then was published last year, and already a known book. Thenis popular around the shelves. I believe that Then will stand the test of time, and become a popuilar classic.
7. After reading the book, write a short note to a friend describing the book. Include a description of the genre, setting and difficulty level. You need to also include the following information; What were the main themes in the book? What was the central conflict? How was it resolved?
Describe your feelings towards the novel.
Did you enjoy it, why or why not?
Did you find it easy to get into? Did you like it the more that you read it?
Would you read more books by the same author, or of a similar genre?
Anne of Green Gables in a wonderful book. Set around the 1800's in Avonlea on Prince Edward Island just off the east shores of Canada. This book was defffinetly extremely dificult to read. The Language was not what we would usually use in our day to day life, although it was still understandable.
Within Anne of Green Gables, the main conflict was, well... there was a few. The main one though was due to the fact of Anne being a girl when Miss Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Mr Mathew Cuthbert had simply asked for a boy. The Conflict was not as so solved but agreed with. You see after a while Marilla and Mathew got used to Anne being a girl and not a boy. Although her non-stop talking , her imagination and her rudeness towards people not showing kindness and respect to others was a problem Marilla did not know how to deal with. Once Anne settled into school Anne was fine. Although that did not mean her rudeness stoped...
Anne ended up being one of the top students in her class.
I really enjoyed this book!! Even though I had problems with it thoughout my reading times, it came to be a good little book! I will deffietly read the other Anne series!!
Then is a fantastic book. Set in poland when The Germans were invading Poland. The book was not difficult at all. Infact it was super easy as it was all written in Modern Language. The Theme was a 2 orphans trying to stay undercover, being helped by a catholic lady named Genia while the Nazis were in town.
The central conflict was around during the whole book. The Nazi's were invading Poland and Felix had to go to all extremes to save Zelda. The conflict is not solved. The war is still in play at the end of the book.
My feeling towards this book were sad as it was really sad, but happy when something happens.
I really enjpyed the book, as it was exciting and there was alot of drama and tension which I enjoy.
